FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I reset my tracker?

lf your tracker is not responding, it may be fixed by restarting.

Open the battery door using the battery door tool and remove the battery. Wait 10 seconds. Place the battery back into the tracker with the + side facing up, and close the door. Your Zip will now be reset. You will see your tracker’s version number, followed by a series of Fitbit Smilies. When you tap your tracker, you should be able to navigate through the screens as you normally would.

How do I reinstall the battery?

Your Zip’s display is powered by a 3V coin battery, CR 2025. If your Zip won’t turn on, it may be due to a drained or misaligned battery.

To reinstall the battery in your Zip: Insert the battery door tool into the rear door slot of your Zip and turn it counter-clockwise to unlock the battery door. Remove the door and battery. Reinsert your battery with the positive (+) end facing up, and replace the battery door. Insert the battery tool and turn clockwise to lock the battery door. The door should be flush with the rear of the tracker.

  1. Hi Andrea, with Fit bit; and if you go to your Dashboard, you can count the calories you eat by logging in the food that you take in for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. As far as the calories that you burn, this is done by the activity; ie. if walking it goes by steps taken. If you are spinning you log in the activity separetly and log the time and speed that you are working out at. You can log in activity under the activity tab. I hope this answered your question. If there is any other questions I will try to assist. The fit bit counts motion from waist to foot- so it counts the motion taken in that manner. Make sure when you clip it on, it is facing with the screen towards your body or even next to your skin at your waist. I use a stair stepper besides the treadmill and it has not probblem calculating that. I will try my stationary bike and let you know- OK it does not count strides on bike. I tested it on my Eliptical it does count but I think its because you are making the motion from waist to foot.
